New Wi-Fi 7 access points for offices

4 November 2026

Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) is now arriving in offices, and it is the biggest wireless upgrade in a decade. If your staff complain about slow or dropping Wi-Fi during video calls, it may be time to plan an upgrade.

What is new in Wi-Fi 7

  • Speeds up to 4.8 times faster than Wi-Fi 6 in real-world tests
  • 320 MHz channels in the 6 GHz band for very high capacity
  • Multi-Link Operation (MLO): devices use several bands at once, so connections stay stable even when one band is busy
  • Lower latency, which makes Teams, Zoom and VoIP calls smoother
  • Better performance in crowded spaces such as open-plan offices, warehouses and hotels

Popular Wi-Fi 7 access points

Ubiquiti UniFi U7 Pro Excellent value, managed from a simple cloud dashboard with no licence fees. A favourite for small and medium offices.

TP-Link Omada EAP783 Tri-band performance with free Omada controller software. Strong choice for budget-conscious businesses.

Aruba Instant On AP32 / HPE Aruba 730 series Enterprise-grade security and reliability, ideal for larger companies and multi-floor buildings.

Cisco Meraki MR57 Full cloud management, advanced analytics and top-tier security for organisations with an IT team.

Should you upgrade now?

  • Yes, if you are moving to a new office or doing a fit-out — install Wi-Fi 7 now so you are ready for five or more years
  • Yes, if you have more than 30 users per floor or many video calls
  • Maybe later, if your Wi-Fi 6 network was installed in the last two years and works well

Don't forget the rest of the network Wi-Fi 7 access points need a 2.5 GbE or 10 GbE PoE+ switch to reach full speed, and good Cat6A cabling. Older 1 GbE switches will limit performance.
